The Gizzly was on the weekend following the High Peak Marathon so I probably was not as fresh as I could have been!

Grizzly - going up one of the first hills. I should not have worn Ron Hills and a thermal, I was quite warm
Up to this point this was the largest event that I had taken part in, and I was somewhat daunted by the number of participants. I had somehow managed to start near the front so was contiunally passed for the first 2 or 3 miles by people who were evidently faster than me.

Grizzly - water before the mud
The Grizzly has a bit of a reputation for being muddy, in 2005 though it was quite reasonably underfoot and I even had the opportunity to cool of in some streams!

Grizzly - through some woods
The pleasant scenary was broken up by a couple of shingle beach sections, and on the last one I found that walking was faster than trying to run.

Grizzly - shingle trying to run!
